Hey, unless you've been living under a rock (or, more sensibly, aren't terminally online), then you know that director Zack Snyder (Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice) either willingly quit directing duties on 2017's Justice League to deal with a family emergency – or was fired, depending on what sources you believe (though, most likely, it was a combination of the two) – and that it was subsequently co-written and finished by Joss Whedon (The Avengers). Which…didn't turn out too great (hell, I like it more than most, and even I think it's meh at best).
Part of its ultimate box-office and critical disappointment was due to the fact that the two directors had completely conflicting styles and sensibilities (which, again, according to certain sources, was the whole reason Whedon was brought on in the first place). But, since theaters were closed and HBO Max needed original content to gain subscribers for their nascent streaming service, the studio decided to bankroll Snyder's "vision".
And while Justice League: The Snyder Cut won't premiere on HBO Max until March 18th, they've been heavily promoting a new trailer with never-before-seen footage set to go online February 14th. Before that though, they've released two short "teasers" ahead of the aforementioned trailer – both of which you can watch at the top and bottom of the article. This includes more footage of Henry Cavill in the black Superman suit, as well as this film's version of Darkseid. Which…I mean…all just looks like more grimdark CGI slosh to me. But, apparently it's at least gotten some people all hot-and-bothered, so good for them, I guess. Hopefully it's better in context.
But what do you guys think? You excited by it? Can't wait for it to come out so people can stop talking about it finally? Either way, sound off below!
