Last year it was reported that a JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK flick (a.k.a. DARK UNIVERSE) is now a priority for Warner Bros., however it remains to be seen if the film will actually happen. The project doesn't have a director yet (although there are a couple of top contenders for the gig), and it's been awhile since we've heard about the planned movie.
Well, it looks like we might finally be getting a JLD film, but it'll be animated take on the comic book series. According to the British Board of Film Classification, the home media release of the upcoming animated adaptation of BATMAN: THE KILLING JOKE will come with a "sneak peak at Justice League Dark," which will more than likely be a teaser/announcement trailer for DC Animation's next feature.
THE KILLING JOKE will have its world premiere at this summer's San Diego Comic-Con before being released digitally on July 23rd and on Blu-ray on August 2nd, so the good news is we probably won't have to wait that long to learn more about JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK.
