It was quite the massive undertaking to bring JUSTICE LEAGUE to life, with production on the Zack Snyder flick kicking off in early April and not wrapping up until mid-October. At the time it was thought that Snyder would move right on to JUSTICE LEAGUE PART TWO but a new report from THR claims that this is no longer the plan.
The outlet reports that the JUSTICE LEAGUE sequel has been delayed in order to make room for Ben Affleck's standalone Batman film. The sequel was originally slated for a June 14, 2019 release but it's not certain if Affleck's Bat-flick will take over that date or find itself a new one. As for JUSTICE LEAGUE PART TWO, there's no word on how far back it will be pushed, but Warners Bros. does have a spot for a UNTITLED DC FILM on November 1, 2019. Zack Snyder is still intent on directing JUSTICE LEAGUE PART TWO, but he'll use the brief break between movies as an excuse to tackle something a little smaller.
Snyder will revive his long-in-development war thriller THE LAST PHOTOGRAPH which he had initially set up at after the success of 300. Zack Snyder and his longtime colleague Kurt Johnstad penned the script several years ago, but the intent is to spruce it up and take it over to Warner Bros. THE LAST PHOTOGRAPH centers on "a war correspondent in Afghanistan who is the only one to survive an attack on a group of Americans. When a special ops soldier in search of a family member shows up, the two team up, with the correspondent hoping to score the story of his life." At one time Sean Penn and Christian Bale were attached to star, but the project currently doesn't have a lead in place. Production is on THE LAST PHOTOGRAPH is expected to get underway by late 2017.
JUSTICE LEAGUE is set for a November 17, 2017 release.
