Gerard Butler has no shortage of action thrillers under his belt but Deadline has reported that he’s added yet another to his slate. Gerard Butler is looking to star in Just Watch Me, a heist thriller based upon the novel by Dexter creator Jeff Lindsay.

Just Watch Me is the first installment of Jeff Lindsay’s Riley Wolfe series. It follows Wolfe, a “master thief and expert in disguise who targets the wealthiest 0.1 percent. The likeable bad guy teams up with a master forger named Monique and a team of expert thieves on a job that will make history.” As you might have guessed, Gerard Butler would play Riley Wolfe in the thriller. The project is set to be written by Derek Kolstand, creator of John Wick. If all goes well, producers are hoping that Just Watch Me will start shooting towards the end of the year. In a statement, Derek Kolstad said:

As both a fan and a friend of Jeff Lindsay, I am excited to bring Just Watch Me to the screen. I’m eager to see Gerard Butler bring Riley Wolfe to cinematic life with the incredible team of Dylan Russell, Scott Steindorff, Alan Siegel, Raven and Sculptor Media.

Producer Warren Goz of Sculpter Media added, “What attracted us to this project was the veritable dream team of producers, creatives and partners, some of whom, we have previously worked with to achieve great creative success. We are also excited to team with Derek, who has a renowned track record of great commercial achievement.” Derek Kolstad most recent projects were the Bob Odenkirk action thriller Nobody as well as The Falcon and the Winter Soldier on Disney+. As for Gerard Butler, he will start shooting the Den of Thieves sequel in Serbia and France this spring. Den of Thieves 2: Pantera will find Big Nick (Butler) on the hunt for Donnie (O’Shea Jackson Jr.) in Europe. Donnie has become involved “in the dangerous world of diamond thieves and the infamous Panther mafia as they plot a massive heist of the world’s biggest diamond exchange.
