Omar Sy missed out on Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, but his Jurassic World character Barry will be returning in the upcoming sequel Jurassic World: Dominion – and Sy is reunited with Jurassic World co-star Chris Pratt in a new behind-the-scenes image, which you can see below. In this image, Sy's Barry and Pratt's Owen are both on a small boat called Fair Spanish Lady, a nod to executive producer Steven Spielberg's classic film Jaws.
Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow is back at the helm for Dominion, working from a screenplay he wrote with Emily Carmichael, based on an idea he crafted with his Jurassic World and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom co-writer Derek Connolly.
Pratt and Sy are joined in the cast by Bryce Dallas Howard, Mamoudou Athie, DeWanda Wise, Daniella Pineda, Justice Smith, Jake Johnson, Omar Sy, Scott Haze, Campbell Scott, and Dichen Lachman, as well as original Jurassic Park stars Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum.
There is no plot synopsis available for the film, but Trevorrow has described Dominion as a "true ensemble" in which the Jurassic Park characters are of equal importance to the returning Jurassic World characters.
A collaboration between Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment, the film was executive produced by Trevorrow and Spielberg, with Frank Marshall producing alongside Pat Crowley. Sara Scott, senior vice president of production at Universal, oversaw the project for the studio.
Jurassic World: Dominion is scheduled to reach theatres on June 10, 2022. Trevorrow has said it finishes the "one long story" that has been told across all six Jurassic films (plus Trevorrow's short film Battle at Big Rock), and also has connections to the Netflix animated series Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous.
