An all-new chapter of the Jurassic World saga titled THE BATTLE AT BIG ROCK is set to air exclusively on FX this Sunday, September 15 at 9:50 pm PST. Directed and co-written by JURASSIC WORLD helmer Colin Trevorrow and Emily Carmichael, the 8-minute short film stars André Holland, Natalie Martinez, Melody Hurd and Pierson Salvador.
The story takes place one year after the events of JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM in Big Rock National Park, where dinosaurs are now living in our world. Naturally, the short focuses on a family of four whose encounter with these wild animals becomes a terrifying fight for survival.
When talking up his latest contribution to the Jurassic franchise, Trevorrow said, “It’s about a family on a camping trip to Big Rock National Park, about 20 miles from where the last film ended. There have been a few sightings, but this is the first major confrontation between dinosaurs and humans.”
Trevorrow also teased that the short will feature a “giant animatronic dinosaur,” which is sure to satisfy practical effects buffs. He then added, “There are two species we’ve never seen before. The Nasutoceratops, which is a beautiful herbivore that feels like a Texas Longhorn. And the Allosaurus, one of the most iconic dinosaurs of all time. This one was a juvenile in the last movie. She’s all grown up now.”
THE BATTLE AT BIG ROCK will stomp onto FX this Sunday, September 15 at 9:50 pm PST, following the network's broadcast of JURASSIC WORLD.
