Hold onto your butts, Jurassic Park fans, because Saltburn director Emerald Fennell is all about your innermost desires and dinosaurs! Making AO3 writers roar with delight while speaking with Deadline about Saltburn, her new film about excess, debauchery, and decadence, Fennell said her favorite movie is Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park, and she’s got a steamy idea for a remake. Imagine, if you will, an erotic version of Jurassic Park with human-on-dinosaur action and a domestic drama angle. You’d have to spare no expense on lube, but the possibilities are endless!
While discussing her dream project with Deadline, Fennell shared her desire for an erotic Jurassic Park remake, saying, “I honestly feel that I’ve been so lucky. I’ve been able to make my dream projects already. But my favorite film of all time is Jurassic Park, so I would love to get in on the dinosaurs. Well, first and foremost, it’s very erotic. I think humans and dinosaurs have gotten to that stage in their time together, where things are starting to get quite thrilling. So, there’s a marriage between a man and a velociraptor, and it’s basically a domestic drama.”
Could you imagine Chris Pratt’s Owen Grady waking up to a frisky Velociraptor or a Dilophosaurus spitting on private parts to crank the party up a notch? I’ve got more x-rated pictures to paint, but I’ll spare you more scenes from the dark corners of my porn-poisoned mind. Meanwhile, Fennell’s vision sounds tame compared to my disturbing pitches, though I think she’d find a way to put a dark spin on the concept. Do you want evidence of her dark dealings? I urge you to watch Promising Young Woman and Saltburn to see how Fennell’s erotic Jurassic Park could drop jaws and reposition the money-printing dinosaur-related franchise.
While answering a series of questions for Deadline, Fennell also commented on her toughest challenge yet as a filmmaker, saying, “I think with Promising Young Woman, it was just the best time of my life. We had so little time, 23 days, in fact, and I was so pregnant. It was a ticking clock, not just because we had a finite budget and time, but I mean, I gave birth three weeks after we finished principal photography. It was definitely a bit of a tightrope walk.”
