Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle has become Sony’s highest grossing film

Look out, Spidey! Your record has been broken now that JUMANJI: WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE has just become Sony Pictures' highest grossing film of all-time. The JUMANJI sequel recently reached $403.714 million at the domestic box-office on Tuesday ($950 worldwide at this time), which puts it past the previous record-holder, SPIDER-MAN. I certainly never suspected that a sequel to JUMANJI starring Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan, and Jack Black would become so successful, but here we are. JUMANJI is bigger than SPIDER-MAN, SKYFALL, MEN IN BLACK, and GHOSTBUSTERS, domestically speaking of course.

A sequel is on the way of course, with Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan, and Jack Black all expected to return as well as director Jake Kasdan and screenwriters Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner, so I hope you're all up for more jungle-based video-game shenanigans. Dwayne Johnson took to Instagram to celebrate the success of JUMANJI: WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE and thank the fans for their support, as well as to confirm that they've working on JUMANJI 3 which he teases will kill off Kevin Hart's character.

JUMANJI: WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE is now available on DVD/Digital HD/Blu-ray/4K Ultra HD, and Dwayne Johnson's next film, RAMPAGE, is set to hit theaters on April 13th.
