Jumanji: The Next Level character posters introduce the game’s new players

Sony Pictures Releasing has unveiled seven new character posters for JUMANJI: THE NEXT LEVEL, this year's highly anticipated sequel to the franchise's 2017 critical and box office darling. Naturally, each new print spotlights one of the upcoming film's main players, including those returning to Jumanji for another dangerous game.

Assembling the same crew from the previous film, JUMANJI: THE NEXT LEVEL sees Dwayne JohnsonKevin HartJack BlackKaren Gillan and Nick Jonas reprising their respective roles, with the real-world cast of Ser'Darius Blain, Madison IsemanMorgan Turner and Alex Wolff also returning. Meanwhile, newcomers Danny DeVitoDanny Glover and Awkwafina are also welcomed to the jungle.

In 2017, JUMANJI: WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE was considered by many to be the surprise smash of the year. Adored by fans and critics alike, JUMANJI: WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE exceeded box office expectations with a $950 million global take. Not long into the original's monumental success, Sony announced that a sequel was being fast-tracked. Nearly two years later, we have JUMANJI: THE NEXT LEVEL, a sequel that promises to take us to Jumanji parts unknown, where many of the game's most deadly predators dwell.

Here's the synopsis:

In Jumanji: The Next Level, the gang is back but the game has changed. As they return to Jumanji to rescue one of their own, they discover that nothing is as they expect. The players will have to brave parts unknown and unexplored, from the arid deserts to the snowy mountains, in order to escape the world's most dangerous game.

JUMANJI: THE NEXT LEVEL will arrive in theaters on December 13, 2019.
