Julie Delpy’s The Countess scores some stills & new one-sheet

It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything regarding Julie Delpy’s THE COUNTESS. Actually, the last update came over a year ago in the form of the flick’s first trailer, which can be found below. So a year later and what have we got? Some new stills and a brand new one-sheet! How exciting!

Actually this isn’t exciting at all. Truth be told THE COUNTESS is looking boring as sh*t. Hell, it’s not even classified as a genre flick. But whenever a flick involves bathing in the blood of virgins, I’m pretty sure that falls along the lines of our beloved genre anyday right? Heh blood of virgins, that must be one smooth ass bath! But enough about bloody bathtime, I’m here to show you all some COUNTESS goods!

If you look above you’ll find the latest one-sheet for the film, which isn’t really anything special. Then you if you look directly below you’ll find five brand new stills for the feature, and guess what?! These stills are pretty damn boring too. But that shite is available for your viewing pleasure below so go ahead and check it out anyway!

The true story of Countess Bathory born in 1560. At the age of 14, she married a powerful warlord, 10 years her senior. Although their relationship became cold and distant, she bore him four children. While he was away fighting wars, she kept up their estate with the help of her confidant, the witch Anna Darvulia, becoming increasingly powerful. She was feared, admired, and loathed by many; even the King had to obey her wishes. After her husband died, she met a handsome young man. They fell passionately in love. However, she was desperately concerned that she was not young enough to keep him. For 12 years she waited for his return and, in mad desperation, began to bathe in the blood of virgins, convinced that it would provide her with eternal youth and beauty, setting in motion the chain of bloody and treacherous events that led to her demise.

THE COUNTESS, coming from director Julie Delpy, also stars Delpy (below) along with William Hurt, Anamaria Marinca, Jeanette Hain, and Daniel Brühl. So why the update on THE COUNTESS now? Well just in time for Cannes of course! There’s no word on any sort of US release just yet, but I’m sure we’ll be hearing something sooner rather than later. As always keep it here for more on THE COUNTESS as we hear it!
