Julianne Moore joins Amy Adams in The Woman in the Window

One of my favorite actresses out there is Julianne Moore. From her roles in such quality-ish flicks as HANNIBAL, MAPS TO THE STARS, CARRIE, PSYCHO, CHILDREN OF MEN – and hell, even TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE: THE MOVIE – Moore always classes up a joint unlike any other.

In fact, I just rewatched Steven Spielberg's (mostly horrible) sequel to JURASSIC PARK, THE LOST WORLD: JURASSIC PARK the other day over on Netflix and found one of the few shining lights of the sequel to be Moore.

And it is with this in mind that I'm now officially looking forward to director Joe Wright's upcoming thriller THE WOMAN IN THE WINDOW starring Amy Adams. As you might imagine, today it was announced via THR that Julianne Moore will be joining the cast and – boom – just like that, I'm there.

In Fox 2000’s adaptation of the book by A.J. Finn, Adams plays:

A child psychologist with severe agoraphobia (and a penchant for mixing alcohol with her medication) who hasn’t left her house in months. The woman believes she witnessed a horrible crime involving a new neighboring family but no one, including the police, will believe her.

Moore will play the mother of a mysterious young boy who moves in across the street.

The adaption is penned by Tracy Letts (BUG, KILLER JOE). Scott Rudin and Eli Bush are producing. Elizabeth Gabler and Marisa Paiva are overseeing for Fox 2000. We'll let you know once we hear more regarding this REAR WINDOW-style thriller, but until then, you can always catch Amy Adams in HBO's new mini-series SHARP OBJECTS which just started airing this past Sunday.
