A fan favorite element of the 2018 HALLOWEEN sequel directed by David Gordon Green was the interaction between babysitter Vicky (Virginia Gardner) and her young charge Julian, played by Jibrail Nantambu. While Green won't be able to recapture that particular magic in the next HALLOWEEN films he'll be directing, HALLOWEEN KILLS and HALLOWEEN ENDS, half of that duo will be returning. Speaking with Halloween Daily News at the Scares That Care Charity Weekend, Nantambu confirmed that he "will be in the next movies".
And just in case the fact that he'll be in the sequels gets you concerned for Julian's well-being, Nantambu also assured fans that, "I will not die."
Nantambu joins a cast that includes Jamie Lee Curtis as Laurie Strode, Judy Greer as Laurie's daughter Karen, Andi Matichak as Laurie's granddaughter Allyson, Anthony Michael Hall as Tommy Doyle, Kyle Richards as Lindsey Wallace, and original Michael Myers performer Nick Castle, possibly making another masked cameo like he did in HALLOWEEN 2018.
While celebrating the return of Richards (who played Lindsey in the original HALLOWEEN) to the franchise, Curtis mentioned on Instagram that "She will join MANY original characters and their performers." So it sounds like that rumor about Charles Cyphers reprising the role of Brackett could be true as well.
Green will be shooting HALLOWEEN KILLS and HALLOWEEN ENDS back-to-back; KILLS begins filming later this month, and once it wraps there will be a "short breather" before the director and his cast and crew head into production on ENDS.
While HALLOWEEN 2018 was filmed in Charleston, South Carolina, HALLOWEEN KILLS will be filming in Wilmington, North Carolina, and Tona B. Dahlquist Casting has been busy casting the hundreds of local background extras that will be required for the film.
Those interested in applying to be an extra in the film should send an email to [email protected] with a subject line that includes your age, ethnicity, gender and city/state of residence. Additionally, the email should include two current photos (a close up and a full-body photo) that can be taken with a cellphone, name, phone, age, city/state of residence, height/weight, clothing sizes, and description of any visible tattoos and piercings.
Local news outlet Star News Online caught word that, in addition to general extras, KILLS was also seeking to fill the following specific roles:
– Anyone with real work experience as police officers, medical personnel (doctors, nurses, surgical staff, ER staff), EMT/paramedics and firefighters. Submit the above information in an email with the subject line, POLICE, EMT or whatever profession you have experience in.
– Identical triplets (male or female) that are 18 years or older. Submit the above information in an email with the subject line, TRIPLETS.
– Ventriloquist that has its own puppet. Submit the above information in an email with the subject line, VENTRILOQUIST.
– Anyone with with mid-1960s to 1970s vehicles. Submit the above information in an email with the subject line, VINTAGE VEHICLE.
– Modern vehicles are also needed for the production. Include your car’s make, model, year and color in the general extras submission email to apply.
The fact that HALLOWEEN KILLS needs hundreds of extras and specific characters like a ventriloquist and identical triplets has stirred up speculation that the film could feature some kind of large Halloween fair, perhaps one that includes a talent show.
The need for vintage vehicles also has fans wondering if there might be some kind of '70s flashback in there.
Green wrote the screenplay for HALLOWEEN KILLS with Danny McBride and Scott Teems. The film is scheduled for an October 16, 2020 release.
Written by Green, McBride, Paul Brad Logan, and Chris Bernier, HALLOWEEN ENDS will reach theatres on October 15, 2021.
Malek Akkad is producing these films with Jason Blum and Bill Block. Green, McBride, and Curtis serve as executive producers alongside John Carpenter and Cooper Samuelson. Carpenter will also be composing the score.
