Yet another HALLOWEEN sequel seems like a pointless prospect, after all, how can you ever hope to live up to John Carpenter's magnificent original? But, a HALLOWEEN sequel which will disregard everything after the first sequel directed by David Gordon Green (STRONGER) from a script written by himself and Danny McBride (Vice Principals), well, that's interesting; combined with John Carpenter's involvement and the triumphant return of Jamie Lee Curtis as Laurie Strode, and you've certainly got my attention.
With production expected to get underway by late October/early November, we'll likely be hearing much more about who will be joining Jamie Lee Curtis in her final battle against Michael Myers, and Deadline reports that Judy Greer (ANT-MAN AND THE WASP) is currently in negotiations to star in the film as Karen Strode, Laurie's daughter. Judy Greer is always a welcome addition to any film, and, as she's often criminally underused, it would be great to see her take on a larger role alongside Jamie Lee Curtis as Myers terrorizes Haddonfield once more.
We don't know much about what type of story Danny McBride and David Gordon Green have cooked up for us, but Green recently said they're doing something "unique" with the upcoming film.
I can’t say too much more as we are trying to keep things tight right now, but we are doing something unique. John Carpenter is involved as well, which is like a dream to me. The two films I couldn’t watch growing up were Halloween and Revenge of the Nerds, so I can’t wait to invite my parents to this one.
HALLOWEEN will hit theaters on October 19, 2018.
