Do you remember JOY RIDE? Maybe? Well it was that hard to define
comedy/suspense/horror/something different entirely film where Paul Walker, Steve Zahn and Leelee Sobieski were stalked by a crazy trucker played by Ted Levine. The film, written by J.J. Abrams, came and went in theaters but magically scored some big bucks for Fox.
Well, if haven’t had enough crazy trucker mayhem then feast your eyes on the news that JOY RIDE: END OF THE ROAD will most likely be coming to video store shelves near you! That’s right, the sequel of JOY RIDE will start shooting October 15 in Vancouver, but while no director has been publicly announced, the film has been written by James Robert Johnston and Bennett Yellin (Dumb and Dumber).
In the film four young adults (Melissa, Bobby, Kayla, Nik) on the road to a concert in Las Vegas take a lethal side trip — and when their beater of a car breaks down, they make the fatal error of stealing a car belonging to depraved, homicidal, sadistic, maniacal, sociopathic trucker Rusty Nail.
There is no word whether Ted Levine would reprise his role as the truck driving, mind game playing, psychopath but I do believe that with out his creepy voice the film will lose it’s edge. Personally, I thought the first one was enough for me but maybe something crazy will happen this time. We can only hope. Click here to read more
