Book your flight, hide your drugs, and pack your bags because Adele Lim is bringing you on an unpredictable joy ride of discovery across the pond! From the producers of Neighbors and the co-screenwriter of Crazy Rich Asians, the Joy Ride red-band trailer features Ashley Park (Emily in ParisOnly Murders in the BuildingTales of the City), Oscar-nominated actress Stephanie Hsu (Everything Everywhere All At OnceThe Marvelous Mrs. MaiselAmerican Born Chinese), Sherry Cola (Good TroubleClawsI Love Dick), and Sabrina Wu (Doogie Kamealoha M.D.) as four friends on a journey of discovery, identity, and outrageous adventures.

The Joy Ride red-band trailer is a hilarious and unapologetic look at Lim’s new comedy, centering on four unlikely friends who embark on a once-in-a-lifetime international adventure. When Audrey’s (Ashley Park) business trip to Asia goes sideways, she enlists the aid of Lolo (Sherry Cola), her irreverent childhood best friend who also happens to be a hot mess; Kat (Stephanie Hsu), her college friend turned Chinese soap star; and Deadeye (Sabrina Wu), Lolo’s eccentric cousin. Their no-holds-barred, epic experience becomes a journey of bonding, friendship, belonging, and wild debauchery that reveals the universal truth of what it means to know and love who you are.

Ronny Chieng (Crazy Rich Asians), Desmond Chiam (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier), Alexander Hodge (Insecure), and Chris Pang (Crazy Rich Asians) also star in Joy Ride.

Adele Lim directs from a script by Cherry Chevapravatdumrong and Teresa Hsiao, based on a story by Chevapravatdumrong, Hsiao, and Lim. Lionsgate is the studio that proudly presents this Point Grey / Red Mysterious Hippo production. Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Josh Fagen, Chevapravatdumrong, Hsiao, and Lim produce.

The Joy Ride red-band trailer is a bold look at the film’s crude comedy, gorgeous sets, and non-stop laughs. Getting in touch with your roots is vital to a lot of people. The knowledge that comes from learning about where you came from can be comforting but also devastating. I hope Ashley’s journey of self-discovery yields positive results. If not, she can rely on her found family to keep her spirits up.

Joy Ride comes to theaters on July 7, 2023.
