It looks like we will finally get a chance to see what Josh Trank's THE FANTASTIC FOUR looks like come February 13th with the teaser supposedly attached to KINGSMAN: THE SECRET SERVICE. But, as all of you already know, everyone has a bad feeling about this movie. Whether it be a source confirming rumors or Matthew Vaughn giving his seal of approval, nobody has anything but cautious thoughts about the reboot of Marvel's familial superhero squad.
Now, we are hearing the pretty quiet production may have been anything but. Tiger Droppings has run a story claiming that Josh Trank mistreated the crew and trashed the set to the point that Fox CEO Jim Gianopulos had to travel to the location to apologize in person to the owners. The sources also claim that Trank will not be involved with the film's sequel. Some clarifying statements had the sets that Trank "trashed" being ones he was using as living quarters during production and not actual shooting sets. The damage may have been in the thousands of dollars range, not catastrophic damage to expensive production sets.
Now, where this may be a big steaming pile of bullshit is that Trank is attached to helm the 2018 STAR WARS spin-off. If he was this off the rails, why would Disney even risk bringing him on board? Granted, nothing is in stone until production begins and that could call change once THE FANTASTIC FOUR hits theaters, but I would venture to guess things may be overstated a bit. But, with all of the other rumors swirling around what many are underwhelmed to see, it will be interesting to see if we all eat our words.
THE FANTASTIC FOUR hits theaters on August 7, 2015.
