Josh Gad asks Kevin Hart for back up in The Wedding Ringer trailer

Another day, another Kevin Hart movie. If you ever thought we would live in a world where Josh Gad is going to marry Kaley Cuoco, I give you the first trailer for THE WEDDING RINGER. At first you might think this is a sequel to HITCH where another Kevin James and Will Smith have been interchanged into Josh Gad and Kevin Hart, but I assure you, this is a different movie.

Just read the synopsis and watch the trailer for proof:

Jimmy (Kevin hart) provides best man services for socially challenged guys, who – for whatever reason – have no one close enough to agree to stand by them on the day of their wedding. Doug (Josh Gad), a groom-to-be, has found himself in just such a situation, but, to make matters worse, he fabricates the names of not only a best man but nine groomsmen as well. When all else fails, Doug seeks out Jimmy’s services to carry out a charade designed to make Doug look his best, but threatens to destroy everything if it fails.

My first question is if these two are getting married, wouldn’t she know his story of having seven best friends is a little fabricated? I guess they haven’t reached that stage in their relationship where they talk about friends or meet said friends. Just like HITCH this is going to be a 90-minute movie with a sitcom plotline that could have been resolve in a few sentences of explanation. There are a few moments that made me smile and the gag with grandma surprised the hell out of me. They’re releasing the movie in January, so take that for what it’s worth.

What did you guys think of the trailer? THE WEDDING RINGER opens on January 16, 2015.
