Have I ever told you guys that I have a weird soft spot for Josh Duhamel? I’ve seen more than my fair share of flicks with Duhamel in it, and I can’t help but like him. After seeing the trailer for SCENIC ROUTE, I feel like there’s this whole new side to the actor that the world is about to see…and like just like me.
How can I even explain this trailer to you? Basically, Duhamel goes batshit crazy on his pal (Dan Fogler). That’s it.
The film is slated to make its debut at this South by Southwest 2013. The script comes from Kyle Killen (THE BEAVER), and Kevin and Michael Goetz make their feature debut. If you are headed to SXSW this year, and want to check it out you can find the times to catch it here.
Synopsis: Mitchell (Josh Duhamel) and Carter (Dan Fogler), life-long friends who have drifted apart, are on a road trip when their old pickup breaks down, leaving them stranded on an isolated desert road. Nobody can pick apart a man like his best friend, and as the relentless elements of the desert grind them down, they start to attack each other’s life decisions with unwavering brutality. As they question who they are and who they could have been, their agitation leads to physical confrontation and ultimately knife-wielding madness, and what begins as an inconvenience becomes a very real life or death struggle.
