Josh Brolin may be offered the lead in Jurassic World

Colin Trevorrow is building up quite the cast for JURASSIC WORLD. IRON MAN 3’s Ty Simpkins and KINGS OF SUMMER’s Nick Robinson will play the brothers at the center of the story while rumors are still swirling that Bryce Dallas Howard will be the lead female. Now The Wrap is reporting that Josh Brolin is close to being offered the lead male role in the film.

If Brolin gets cast, I wonder if he will play the father to Simpkins and Robinson or some sort of role similar to Sam Neill‘s Dr. Grant. I would like to see him play a scientist who is drawn into the mix and has to protect his kids in the wake of dinosaur mayhem. Or, that may be a little too easy. Brolin plays a good douche-bag so having him as the villain would work as well.

Whichever route they take, I just want the spirit of Steven Spielberg‘s movie to remain the inspiration for the project. Joe Johnston‘s JURASSIC PARK III may have been flawed but it was still in keeping with the first two films.

JURASSIC WORLD is slated to hit theaters on June 12, 2015.
