Josh Brolin, Maggie Gyllenhaal & Olivia Munn may join thriller Three Seconds

Josh Brolin, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Olivia Munn are in talks to join THREE SECONDS, according to a report from The Wrap. Peaky Blinders and Black Mirror helmer Otto Bathurst is making his feature film directorial debut with the thriller (before possibly moving on to Lionsgate's ROBIN HOOD: ORIGINS), and has already landed Luke Evans and David Oyelowo for the project. THREE SECONDS is based on the Anders Roslund and Borge Hellstrom 2011 novel of the same name, which was adapted by Matt Cook (TRIPLE 9) and Rowan Joffe (THE AMERICAN, 28 WEEKS LATER).

The movie will follow "a man (Evans) who’s forced to go undercover in a prison as part of an FBI operation and must then escape on his own after he’s abandoned mid-mission," and Munn is in negotiations for the role of Evans' wife. If they agree to star in the film, Gyllenhaal will play an FBI agent who has a history with Evans' character, and Brolin will play her supervisor.

THREE SECONDS has the potential to be an awesome prison escape flick. I'm a big fan of Otto Bathurst's work on Black Mirror and Peaky Blinders, and he'll be working with several very solid actors for his first film as a director. Production should begin sometime this year.
