Jordan Peele’s new horror film scheduled for 2022 theatrical release

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Universal Pictures has announced a July 22, 2022 theatrical release for the next horror film from GET OUT (watch it HERE) and US (watch that HERE) writer/director Jordan Peele – but the release date and genre are all we know about the project. The title, plot details, and everything else are being kept under wraps.

The assumption is that the film will

follow in the same vein as his past two directorial efforts, terrifying and subversive tales full of socially-conscious thematics in regards to race and society.

Last year, Peele and his production company Monkeypaw Productions signed a five-year first-look deal with Universal, and this 2022 project is "one of two titles" Peele presented to the studio when that deal was made.

Peele also produced and co-wrote a CANDYMAN film for Universal that has been directed by Nia DaCosta and is set to reach theatres on August 27, 2021. It was recently announced that he will be producing a remake of Wes Craven's THE PEOPLE UNDER THE STAIRS for the studio as well.

Whatever this new film is, we'll be keeping a close eye on it as it moves forward.
