Jordan Peele: More Nope? Maybe!

Writer and director Jordan Peele has hinted that there could be more Nope-related content coming fans’ way in the future. No, it won’t be a full-on Gordy prequel–although how amazing would that be?–but could rather focus on a character you may have never heard of.

In an interview with The New York Times, Jordan Peele was prompted about “online chatter” considering a Nope character listed on IMDb as Nobody. “People are doing a lot of interesting detective work,” he said.

The character of Nobody (played by Michael Busch) was featured briefly in the Nope trailer walking among a group of panicked citizens.

“The story of that character has yet to be told, I can tell you that. Which is another frustrating way of saying, I’m glad people are paying attention. I do think they will get more answers on some of these things in the future. We’re not over telling all of these stories.”

Nope has proven to be another success for Jordan Peele after Get Out and Us. Nope has grossed around $150 million worldwide and has an 83% Rotten Tomatoes score. Its success will only grow, as it came to VOD just last week.

Jordan Peele has been a surprise hit in the horror and (and now sci-fi) community, having a popular comedic career prior, notably with Comedy Central’s Key & Peele. Recently, a fan posted online that, after Nope, Jordan Peele may be the best horror director ever. The director objected, citing a legendary horror filmmaker: “I love your enthusiasm but, I will just not tolerate any John Carpenter slander!!!” Peele has also listed Alfred Hitchcock, Stanley Kubrick and Steven Spielberg as influences. The most direct for UFO horror Nope is most certainly Spielberg, who has made a sci-fi movie here and there.

What are your thoughts on Jordan Peele hinting at more Nope content? Do you feel the movie is worthy of expansion?
