After GET OUT became a breakout smash for first-time director Jordan Peele, everyone began asking him what new, brilliant concept he will cook up next. Though he’s been keeping things pretty close to the chest over the last year, Peele has finally announced his new film will be a horror/thriller titled US.

Peele shared the teaser poster online yesterday, and THR confirms that Peele will be directing from his own script and that actors Winston Duke, Lupita Nyong’o (both in this year’s BLACK PANTHER) and Elisabeth Moss (HANDMAID’S TALE) are in negotiations to star. Not much is known about the movie, but apparently, it’s about two couples, one black one white, with Duke and Nyong’o as one couple and Moss being part of another. The movie is all set for March 15, 2019.
GET OUT was a massive success for Peele, with the movie earning over $200 million globally off what amounts to the budget of a student film, and earlier this year winning an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. Duke and Nyong’o have both been having a good year, with BLACK PANTHER making almost $700 million at the domestic box office, with Duke’s M’Baku (who also appeared in AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR) becoming an instant fan favorite. Moss is currently starring in the second season of THE HANDMAID’S TALE, and before you ask, no I haven’t started this new season yet. I’ll get to it!

Peele’s film was one of my favorites of last year, as it was for many, and I can’t wait to see what he has in store. I don’t think it will be able to top GET OUT, but do we really expect it to? No matter what the man is an undeniable talent, and surely whatever he comes up with will likely be fascinating – and hopefully terrifying.
