Universal Pictures has released all three of filmmaker Jordan Peele’s directing efforts to date – Get Out, Us, and Nope. And their working relationship is going to continue with the fourth movie Peele will be directing, a project that is currently only known as Untitled Fourth Film Directed by Jordan Peele. Universal has announced (and Variety reported) that they will be releasing the film on Wednesday, December 25, 2024.
Plot details are being kept under wraps, and we probably shouldn’t expect to know much about Peele’s fourth film until that December 2024 release date is imminent.
Universal previously had the first part of their two film adaptation of the Wicked musical set for a Christmas 2024 release, but recently bumped that movie up to a Thanksgiving release. So now Peele’s fourth film will be reaching theatres just four days after both Avatar 3 (from Disney) and Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (from Paramount), both of which are set for December 20 release. Although, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Sonic decide to give Avatar some space as we get closer to that month.
Peele is also producing a mysterious project for Universal, and they have scheduled that one for a September 27, 2024 theatrical release.
Working together has been very beneficial for both Peele and Universal. Get Out earned $255 million at the box office and received four Oscar nominations (with Peele taking home the gold for his screenplay). Us also made $255 million, and Nope pulled in over $170 million.
Now we just have to wait around 21 months before we’ll see how well Peele’s fourth film is going to do.
Are you glad to hear that Jordan Peele’s fourth film is going to be in theatres on December 25, 2024? Are you such a fan of his work that you can already guarantee you’ll be seeing this movie on the big screen, even though we don’t know anything about it? Let us know by leaving a comment below. I haven’t been blown away by Peele’s movies, but I have enjoyed them for the most part and am on board to watch anything he directs.
