Jonathan Majors’ impending trial has been delayed yet again. As determined at a hearing on Wednesday morning – when the trial was set to begin – Majors will be waiting until at least September 15th to have another hearing over misdemeanor charges of assault and harassment.
At this morning’s hearing, Assistant District Attorney Kelli Galaway told the judge, “People are…ready for the trial,” despite previous comments to the contrary. However, Majors’ defense team maintains that there are “deficiencies” over a certificate of compliance regarding evidence. As per multiple sources, Jonathan Majors was relatively quiet during the hearing, giving simple replies to the judge presiding over the trial.
Jonathan Majors’ trial was supposed to begin in early August but this was delayed after a request by his attorney. Majors’ team has been adamant over his innocence, stating back in April, “Jonathan Majors is innocent and has not abused anyone…We have provided irrefutable evidence to the District Attorney that the charges are false. We are confident that he will be fully exonerated.” If convicted in his eventual trial, Jonathan Majors could face up to one year in jail.
Since the alleged incident, which took place in late March, Jonathan Majors has been the subject of numerous other claims, with more people stepping forward saying that Majors had a lengthy history of abuse going at least back to his days at Yale. Prior to that, Major was canned by his talent manager and removed from an ad campaign for the United States Army.
Prior to March, Jonathan Majors was on an impressive run, with a three-month run that saw Sundance hit Magazine Dreams, the emergence of Kang the Conqueror in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, and a bout with Adonis Creed in Creed III. Until the verdict in Jonathan Majors’ trial arrives, his future in the MCU is uncertain.
Regardless of how his trial turns out, what do you think the future will hold for Jonathan Majors? What do think the odds of him being a major Hollywood star – as he was clearly on his way to be – are? Give us your take in the comments below.
