I don't watch many TV shows, so I haven't gotten around to watching the Netflix series Mindhunter, in which Jonathan Groff plays the role of Holden Ford. I didn't see him on Looking or Glee, and I also don't often watch animated movies, so I'm one of the few people who have never seen the 2013 Disney movie FROZEN, for which Groff provided the voice of Kristoff. In fact, when I look over Groff's list of credits, I realize that I have only seen or heard him in one role: he was a young veteran in Clint Eastwood's AMERICAN SNIPER.
But I know that Groff has earned a lot of respect and a solid fanbase from his work on the projects mentioned above, and it looks like he's about to become even more popular, as he has signed on for an unspecified role in THE MATRIX 4.
Groff joins a cast that includes returning stars Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, and Jada Pinkett Smith, as well as fellow new additions Jessica Henwick, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Neil Patrick Harris.
Sixteen years after MATRIX creators Lana and Lilly Wachowski seemed to have brought the franchise to an end, Lana is coming back to direct the fourth film and has written the screenplay with Aleksandar Hemon and David Mitchell. Hemon previously worked with the Wachowskis on Sense8. Mitchell worked with them on Sense8 and also wrote the novel their Tom Tykwer collaboration CLOUD ATLAS was based on.
Lilly Wachowski does not appear to have any involvement with THE MATRIX 4. The film is being produced by Grant Hill.
