The Problem with Jon Stewart sets Apple TV+ premiere, teaser trailer released

Jon Stewart is back, baby! After taking some time off from the late-night game, Jon Stewart is ready to make his return to television. Today, Apple TV+ has revealed that The Problem with Jon Stewart will debut globally on Apple TV+, Thursday, September 30, followed by new episodes bi-weekly. There will also be a podcast component to Stewart’s new gig. The podcast is set to premiere on Thursday, September 30 on Apple Podcasts, and via RSS, with new episodes every week.

Per the show’s description, The Problem With Jon Stewart is a multiple-season, single-issue series, taking a deep dive on the most important topics that are currently part of the national conversation. In this new Apple Original series, Stewart will be in discussion with the people who are affected by the issue under discussion, as well as those who have a hand in creating the impact. Together, they will discuss tangible steps that can lead to a potential solution.

As for the podcast, the audio presentation will serve as an extension of the main show. For the audio version, members of the staff will moderate interviews with special guests, review facts on the issues presented, and of course, try to be funny in the process. Stewart will host and executive produce The Problem With Jon Stewart through his Busboy Productions label.

Apple TV+ released a teaser trailer for the upcoming show on Monday. In the trailer, Stewart armors up for his big return to the camera. After slipping into a fine suit, Stewart is aghast at how much he’s aged since his time hosting The Daily Show on Comedy Central from 1999 to 2015. “I should have done a podcast,” he exclaims. Jon, you’re doing that too. Get ready, buddy. It’s officially business time! Welcome back!
