In the past few years Jon Bernthal (The Walking Dead) has gotten involved with some great ensemble films such as THE WOLF OF WALL STREET, FURY, and SICARIO. Jon Bernthal has joined up with another potentially great ensemble as Deadline reports that the actor can count himself among the cast of Edgar Wright's BABY DRIVER. Bernthal will play the role of Griff, which Deadline claims to be a key role in the film.
Edgar Wright kicked off production on the "collision of crime, action, music, and sound" known as BABY DRIVER just a few days ago and we're beginning to find out a little more about the characters involved with the film. Kevin Spacey plays a crime boss known as Doc who coerces a young and talented getaway driver known as Baby (Ansel Elgort) to work for him. Baby, a near mute with an ear condition, relies on "the beat of his personal soundtrack to shield him from the chaos that surrounds him, but he must face the music when a doomed heist threatens his life, love and freedom." Additional members of BABY DRIVER's cast include Jon Hamm as Buddy, Eiza Gonzalez as Darling, Buddy's girlfriend and partner-in-crime, Jamie Foxx as Bats, the impulsive gun-slinging cohort, and Lily James as Deborah, Baby's love interest.
Jon Bernthal will next be seen as The Punisher in season two of Daredevil which debuts on Netflix on March 18, 2016. Meanwhile, BABY DRIVER is set for a March 17, 2017 release.
