Grab yourself an energy drink, and fellas, be sure to cover your balls because Kate Beckinsale is taking no prisoners in the first trailer for Jolt.
Amazon Studios has unleashed the first trailer director Tanya Wexler's Jolt, starring Kate Beckinsale, Bobby Cannavale, Jai Courtney, Laverne Cox, David Bradley, and Ori Pfeffer, with Susan Sarandon and Stanley Tucci.
In Jolt, Lindy (Beckinsale) is a beautiful, sardonically funny woman with a painful secret: Due to a lifelong, rare neurological disorder, she experiences sporadic rage-filled, murderous impulses that can only be stopped when she shocks herself with a special electrode device. Unable to find love and connection in a world that fears her bizarre condition, she finally trusts a man long enough to fall in love, only to find him murdered the next day. Heartbroken and enraged, she embarks on a revenge-filled mission to find his killer, while also being pursued by the police as the crime’s prime suspect.
In the trailer, we find Beckinsale's Lindy kicking ass, taking names, and hooking a man's testicles up to a car battery. I would almost feel sympathy for this man if it were not made clear that he's a sleazeball in desperate need of being taught some manners. For me, it looks like Lindy has taken a few lessons from Atomic Blonde's Lorraine Broughton, and she's not afraid to unleash her inner beast. I say get it, girl.
Amazon Studios will release Jolt on Prime Video on July 23rd, 2021.
