Over the past few months, John Fallon aka The Arrow and I have had the pleasure of checking out a wide variety of independent features. Sure, we always tend to do that here at Arrow in the Head, but these flicks were for a very special and exciting event, one that is finally happening this weekend. We are beyond thrilled to announce that this coming Saturday, audiences will finally get to see some of the best and brightest at the first annual VIDI.SPACE Film Festival. And trust me when I say that this year’s submissions explore a wide range of cinema in marvelous ways, and we can’t wait to celebrate!
It all happens this Saturday, February 22nd, and I’m happy to report that I’ll be there for all the cinematic fun. The day begins at 10 am at the Bow Tie Cinemas (Reston Town Center) in Reston, Virginia. And all throughout the day fans will get to see some of the amazing features and documentaries that range from the powerful “Are You Proud?” to a series of short films like the delightfully clever “Two Dum Micks.” And finally, the awards ceremony begins that night at 7:30pm, with a terrific closing feature finishing off the event! Come celebrate with us and discover some amazingly talented filmmakers and the fascinating stories they have to share.
While unfortunately The Arrow won’t be able to make it out this year – he will of course be cheering us on in spirit – I will be joining Nick Groff, Elizabeth Saint and Chad Lindberg for this incredible celebration of film. If you’re in the area and would like to attend, you can pick up tickets at https://filmfreeway.com/VIDISPACE/tickets! In addition to the awesome movies, you can also join in for the panels including the Judge’s Q and A panel featuring myself, Nick, Chad and Elizabeth, and a Filmmaker’s Q and A panel with Samuel Dunning, Justin Lawrence, Stimson Snead and Mikail Ekiz. We’ll certainly miss Arrow for the Judge’s panel, but this is going to be one of the coolest film festivals out there folks! Come on down and join in for the fun!
