Johnny Depp lands Dior deal worth ~$20 million

Johnny Depp has signed a record three-year deal with Dior that is reportedly worth upwards of $20 million.

Johnny Depp is proving to be as bankable as ever, signing a deal with Dior for around $20 million, a record for any male in the fragrance industry. Reports say this easily tops deals with the likes of Brad Pitt, Robert Pattinson and Chris Pine.

The Dior deal is a major turning point in Johnny Depp’s endorsements. While many continued to support him, his reputation was in jeopardy during the much-publicized legal battle with ex-wife Amber Heard last year, which focused on claims of defamation between the former couple. While Heard eventually settled and revealed she would be relocating from Hollywood to Spain, Depp has moved on in a far more lucrative and publicist-friendly way, with this landmark three-year contract showing that he has come out on top in more ways than one.

Depp is looking to having a banner return to good graces this year. In addition to the Dior contract, Depp is starring in his first movie since 2020, playing Louis XV in Maïwenn’s Jeanne du Barry, which will have the honor of opening the 76th Cannes Film Festival next week. It was announced earlier this week that Johnny Depp will also be getting behind the camera for the first time in more than 25 years. That film, Modi, “chronicles a harrowing 48 hours of Amedeo Modigliani’s life, depicting when he ran from police through the streets and watering holes of war-torn Paris.” Riccardo Scamarcio is set to play the titular Italian painter, who died in 1920 at the age of 35. Al Pacino and Pierre Niney are also attached. There is a plan to sell the film at Cannes, potentially leading to yet another major deal for Depp.

Depp first worked with Dior in 2015 for their Sauvage line, which later faced criticism over claims of racism due to allegedly perpetuating stereotypes related to Native Americans. Dior eventually pulled the ad campaign. The French fashion icon also stood by Depp during the trial, even signing him to a new contract over the summer.

Does the Dior contract show Johnny Depp has made a complete recovery from the trial? What else do you want to see Depp do in the next few years? Let us know!
