Johnny Depp continues to win in the wake of his victory against ex-wife Amber Heard in their highly-publicized defamation trial. The actor announced on Thursday he was selling prints from his artwork collection through a UK gallery, and he managed to sell 780 pieces within hours, which netted him an amount of $3.6 million.
The rush for Johnny Depp’s artwork was so intense that the gallery’s website briefly crashed. The art was sold through Caste Fine Art’s 37 gallery which is located in Birmingham, England. The collection, titled “Friends and Heroes,” depicts pop-art portraits of four people who inspired him, which include Al Pacino, Rolling Stone guitarist Keith Richards, Bob Dylan, and Elizabeth Taylor. In a statement posted on the gallery’s website, Depp said, “I’ve always used art to express my feelings and to reflect on those who matter most to me, like my family, friends, and people I admire. My paintings surround my life, but I kept them to myself and limited myself. No one should ever limit.”
Looks like Johnny Depp is finding different avenues to succeed in. He has acting, music, and now art. The Johnny Depp comeback is still in motion, and it looks pretty bright.
