Deadline has reported that a fresh group of actors have joined the cast of The Continental. Ray McKinnon (Rectify), Katie McGrath (Supergirl), Adam Shapiro (Never Have I Ever), Mark Musashi (Fear of the Walking Dead), and Marina Mazepa (Malignant) have all joined the cast of the John Wick prequel series.

The Continental will star Colin Woodell (The Flight Attendant) as a young Winston Scott, the character played by Ian McShane in the John Wick movies. The three-night special-event TV series is being produced for Starz by Lionsgate Television and will explore “the origin behind the hotel-for-assassins, a centerpiece of the John Wick universe, through the eyes and actions of a young Winston Scott (Woodell) who is dragged into the Hell-scape of a 1975 New York City to face a past he thought he’d left behind. Winston charts a deadly course through the New York’s mysterious underworld in a harrowing attempt to seize the iconic hotel, which serves as the meeting point for the world’s most dangerous criminals.” Katie McGrath will play The Adjudicator, with Ray McKinnon playing Jenkins, Adam Shapiro playing Lemmy, and Mark Musashi and Marina Mazepa playing High Table assassins Hansel & Gretel. It was previously announced that Hubert Point-Du Jour, Jessica Allain, Mishel Prada, Nhung Kate, and Ben Robson will also be featured in the John Wick prequel series, as will Mel Gibson as a mystery character.

As far as the John Wick movie franchise goes, the fourth installment wrapped up production last year with Keanu Reeves once again playing the legendary assassin. Reeves was joined by Donnie Yen, Shamier Anderson, Bill Skarsgård, Hiroyuki Sanada, Scott Adkins, Clancy Brown, and Rina Sawayama. The film will also see the return of a few franchise veterans including Laurence Fishburne as The Bowery King, Ian McShane as Winston, manager of the Continental Hotel, and Lance Reddick as Charon, the concierge of the Continental. Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait a while before the film hits theaters as its release was pushed back to March 24, 2023 late last year.
