JOHN WICK / JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 2 director Chad Stahelski and series producers Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee are currently in pre-production on JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 3, but while working on continuing that story they're also planning projects outside of the JOHN WICK world – projects like an adaptation of the Ed Brubaker comic book KILL OR BE KILLED.
Published by Image Comics and drawn by Sean Phillips, the comic book centers on
a depressed college student who attempts suicide. He survives due to unlikely events but is soon visited by a demon who explains that he was the one who spared the student's life. But there's a price to be paid: Going forward, the young man will be allowed to live one month for every person he kills.
Dan Casey has written the screenplay adaptation.
Iwanyk and Lee will be producing KILL OR BE KILLED through their company Thunder Road. JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 2 executive producer Jeff Waxman will be producing the film with them, while Brubaker serves as executive producer.
I haven't read the comic, but judging by the images from it that are available online it seems like Stahelski is a perfect choice to bring this story to the screen. Just like a JOHN WICK film, this looks like it will deliver a good amount of violence.
