Fasten your seat belt and get ready for what I can only hope will be a wild ride, because JOHN WICK co-director Chad Stahelski is said to be eyeing a new project from A QUIET PLACE producing duo Brad Fuller and Andrew Form.
According to Deadline, the pic is being described as a “high-concept spin capturing the spirit of the great car movies,” with a unique relationship at the heart of the story's center. The screenplay comes from Andre Nemec and Josh Applebaum, who are set to produce via Midnight Radio alongside Fuller and Form courtesy of Fully Formed Entertainment. Stalheski will also produce by way of his 87eleven Entertainment studio. Meanwhile, Jason Spitz will executive produce through 87eleven.
Previously, Nemec and Applebaum teamed with Form and Fuller for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise and are actively writing the long-awaited Eddie Murphy sequel BEVERLY HILLS COP 4.
So, when being made to decrypt a description such as "high-concept car movie," what do you think we're in for? Are we talking another Fast & Furious-like franchise? Perhaps a more moody feature like Nicolas Winding Refn's DRIVE? Maybe it's time for something along the lines of DEATH RACE to make a comeback? I suppose we'll have to wait for more information to find out. I'll say this much, if Stahelski is involved, my interest is certainly piqued. Here's hoping for great things.
