Unfortunately, we still have well over a year before John Wick returns to our screens, but Total Film has dropped a couple of new images from John Wick: Chapter 4 to give us a small taste of what’s to come. Check them out below!
The new John Wick: Chapter 4 images include a behind-the-scenes shot with Keanu Reeves and director Chad Stahelski on the Paris set with the Eiffel Tower looming in the background. We also get a look at the great Donnie Yen as Caine, a blind High Table assassin and friend of John Wick. The final image features John Wick himself alongside The Bowery King (Laurence Fishburne) and Winston (Ian McShane).
I can’t wait to see what John Wick: Chapter 4 has in store for us, but Keanu Reeves teased to Total Film (via /Film) that there will be plenty of vehicular mayhem. “We took the car driving to the next level, which I really enjoy,” Reeves said. “There’s 180s, forward-into-reverse 180s, reverse-into-forward 270s, drifting … [It] was really fun to get a chance to learn those skills, and to play.” The actor spent months perfecting his driving kills for the John Wick sequel, and Chad Stahelski claimed that Reeves could best any other Hollywood actor on the road. “I dare you to find anybody, any cast member in Hollywood — and I’m including all the big names — that can drive better than [Reeves],” Stahelski said. “I’ll throw down the gauntlet! You know the other names I’m throwing it down to, and I bet Keanu can out-drive them all. That’s how much time we put in. No skydiving or base-jumping; I can’t throw that gauntlet for sure. But in a vehicle, he’s amazing. And he puts in the time not just on set — he puts in the pre-lap time.“
In addition to John Wick: Chapter 4, we’ve got several John Wick-related projects in the works. The first John Wick spinoff will be Ballerina, which will star Ana de Armas as a young woman with killer skills who sets out to get revenge when hitmen kill her family. Reeves is set to appear in the spinoff among other John Wick supporting characters. There’s also The Continental, a three-night special-event TV series that will explore “the origin behind the hotel-for-assassins, a centerpiece of the John Wick universe, through the eyes and actions of a young Winston Scott (Colin Woodell) who is dragged into the Hell-scape of a 1975 New York City to face a past he thought he’d left behind. Winston charts a deadly course through the New York’s mysterious underworld in a harrowing attempt to seize the iconic hotel, which serves as the meeting point for the world’s most dangerous criminals.” John Wick: Chapter 4 will debut in theaters on March 24, 2023.
