The good word has arrived via one of the Bowery King’s messenger pigeons (aka Deadline) that Clancy Brown is joining the cast of John Wick: Chapter 4. He’ll star opposite Keanu Reeves, Donnie Yen, Hiroyuki Sanada, Rina Sawayama, Shamier Anderson, Lance Reddick, and Ian McShane in the upcoming sequel, which is set to be helmed by Chad Stahelski.
“I have been a fan of Clancy Brown’s since I can remember,” Stahelski said. “To have him be a part of this project is an honor. He will make a perfect addition to the World of John Wick!”
Dexter fans can witness Brown in Showtime’s upcoming revival series Dexter: New Blood. The anticipated series that looks to bury the unsatisfactory ending to the original presentation launches on November 7th. In movie news, Brown is slated to star as Big Jim Cuddy in the Tim Kirkby-directed thriller Last Looks. The upcoming film focuses on a disgraced ex-cop who seeks solace by moving to the woods. However, his quiet life comes to an end when a private eye recruits him to investigate a murder.
When it comes to voice-acting, Brown has lent his vocals to more characters than you can imagine. For example, he’s the voice of Mr. Krabs in Spongebob Squarepants, King Frederick in Tangles: The Series, Gunmar in Guillermo Del Toro’s Trollhunters animated series, and much, much more! He’ll no doubt make a great addition to the cast of John Wick 4, which is assuredly going to be a bold and bloody affair. I hope that Brown gets to play a key villain in the upcoming film. Seeing as he excels at bringing dastardly characters to life on screen.
