John Wick 4: Viral social media campaign reveals first look

San Diego Comic-Con is on the verge of bursting wide open with lots of news, trailers, and reveals prepped for the nerdiest weekend of the year. Getting out ahead of the rush is a new John Wick 4 image that gives us a first look at Keanu Reeves in the highly-anticipated sequel. Plot details for the follow-up to John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum are unknown, though the new photo depicts Mr. Wick surrounded by candles while contemplating his next move.

At the end of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, Wick was left for dead after being shot by Winston (Ian McShane) to sate the High Table. With a price on his head and seemingly nowhere to turn, Wick retreats into shadow to remain alive. I suspect that John Wick 4 will pick up where the threequel left off, with John nursing his wounds and seeking help from anyone who isn’t prepared to kill him.

Reeves is returning to lead John Wick 4 alongside Laurence Fishburne as the Bowery King, Ian McShane as Winston, and Lance Reddick as Continental concierge Charon. The film welcomes Rina Sawayama, Donnie Yen, Shamier Anderson, Bill Skarsgård, Hiroyuki Sanada, Scott Adkins, and Clancy Brown as additional cast members. Chad Stahelski is back as the director of John Wick 4, which has a script written by Shay Hatten and Michael Finch.

The new John Wick 4 image arrives courtesy of a viral campaign for the film. Fans of the franchise can text the number listed below to join an exclusive list that grants access to classified updates about the movie. This campaign is for US/Canada fans only.

Lionsgate may share a John Wick 4 trailer during Comic-Con weekend. Footage of the film screened earlier this year at CinemaCon featuring Reeves wielding an arsenal of weapons against enemies foolish enough to get in his way. There’s been enough time to edit a trailer, so keep your fingers crossed and your eyes peeled.

What do you think of the new John Wick 4 image? Are you excited to pick up the story of John Wick after a three-year hiatus? In the comments section below, let us know your thoughts about the picture and the likelihood of a trailer drop.
