Okay, so even after the horrendous piece of garbage that was the John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John music video from their Christmas album. Needless to say, if you havem’t seen it, it is painfully bad and the closest thing to a nail in a career coffin that I have seen. Well, Travolta instead is referring to the video as “the video you have to see and can’t stop watching,” apparently oblivious to the joke it has become.
Instead, Travolta seems energized by his new interactions with his GREASE costar. In fact, he went as far to say he has an idea for a film the two can make together.
“I have an idea for that,” the Oscar nominee began. “Instead of the video — Olivia’s schedule didn’t permit it, but we were going to do an old-fashioned TV special. And then we thought, maybe a remake of WHITE CHRISTMAS or something would be even more fun. So you know, we’ll see what happens. We’ll see what happens. But this is a great foundation for that.”
So, instead of combating the image scarring rumors that plagued him this year, Travolta seems intent to ignore them and any opinions of him from the general public by contemplating a remake that no one wants or asked for.
Something happened to Travolta in recent years. The guy rocketed back to stardom with PULP FICTION and rode the success clear into the early 2000s, only to have dropped back to the bottom of the A-list/top of the B-list in the last five years. Maybe he just needs to team back up with John Woo or request a part in THE EXPENDABLES 3 to try and reclaim his stardom. Or maybe he just needs to go away.
