2020 just keeps on taking doesn't it…
I was truly saddened to read this morning that actor JOHN SAXON has passed on (from a pneumonia at 83 years old). I had the pleasure of having dinner with him and his lovely wife Gloria a couple years back at their home. Mr. Saxon was a strong willed, charismatic and funny man. He was also an engaging raconteur. The man knew how to tell captivating stories that's for sure and he kept me riveted for the entire evening. Most know him for his work in NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET Part 1,3 and 7 as Ltn Donald Thompson, a role that has become iconic within the horror genre..
But personally, his performances in THE APPALOOSA with Marlon Brando (for which he got a Golden Globe nomination), ENTER THE DRAGON with Bruce Lee and his stint in Dario Argento's TENEBRAE are the ones that will always stick with me the most. And of course he owned it in BLACK CHRISTMAS.
Our sincere condolences to Gloria, his friends and family. Rest in Peace John. You definitely made your mark on the world and lived life to the fullest. Will be watching THE APPALOOSA and NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET tonight in his honor….
