John Malkovich joins comic book convention crime comedy Supercon

Variety is reporting that John Malkovich has signed on for SUPERCON, a comic book convention-set crime comedy from Gold Star Films and Momentum Productions.

SUPERCON will follow "a group of washed up television stars and comic book artists who make their living attending conventions. Down on their luck, the ragtag team hashes a plot to rob the convention and bring justice to a crooked promoter and an overbearing former TV icon." Zak Knutson, who was behind the camera for Kevin Smith's Too Fat for 40, Burn in Hell and Spoilers series, is directing the pic from a script he co-wrote with Andrew Sipes

Production is already underway on the film, which also features the talents of Maggie Grace, Mike Epps, Clancy Brown, Russell Peters and CariDee English.

Malkovich can be seen next on the big screen starring alongside Mark Wahlberg and Kurt Russell in Peter Berg's DEEPWATER HORIZON on September 30, 2016.
