John Krasinski and Emily Blunt tease a little about A Quiet Place sequel

It was only a matter of time before talk of a sequel to A QUIET PLACE began, especially after the film earned rave reviews and $338 million at the box-office, and Paramount Pictures CEO Jim Gianopulos confirmed that they were in the process of developing a follow-up at CinemaCon earlier this year.

John Krasinski and Emily Blunt spoke with Entertainment Weekly recently where they teased potential plot details about the sequel to A QUIET PLACE. "In some ways, the idea of seeing who these people were before this all happened would be interesting, but I’m not quite sure because I think actually it’s now what’s the next chapter and what happens next," Blunt told EW. "I think people feel very invested in this family…. I think it’s such an open book right now, and certainly for John who is lasering into something as we speak." Krasinski, who co-wrote, directed, and starred in the first film, initially didn't want to return for more as he believed that the original "explored something really special and unique," but after coming up with a small idea which he shared with producer Drew Form, he came around and began writing the sequel.

This is a world you can play in, this isn’t just a character to remake…. it’s actually a world, which is a whole different, very unique experience. It’s not like Alien or Jaws where the main villain is the thing you’re repeating; it’s an actual entire set of rules and the circumstance that the world has undergone that you can play in very different facets.

Personally, I feel like A QUIET PLACE works best by itself, but I'm willing to see what John Krasinski is able to whip up. The sequel to A QUIET PLACE is already slated to hit theaters on May 15, 2020.
