Lloyd Dobler…alright!
If I were John Cusack, a Chi-town native, and was offered to be in a movie shooting in my own backyard…in addition to Spain, I’d sign the hell up ASAP as well!
Such might be the case for THE GRAND PIANO, a psychological thriller we told you about earlier this month. Word from Variety claims Cusack is circling a key role in the film opposite Elijah Wood, though details end there. Solution Entertainment Group is handling international sales at Cannes for the Nostromo Films (BURIED) production.
Written by Damien Chazell and being directed by Eugenio Mira (AGNOSIA):
Wood will play a once-great concert pianist who suffers from stage fright and comes back to perform after a five-year hiatus. Just when he’s about to play the first bar, he notices somebody has written a threatening note on his music sheet. He’s now forced to play his best concert ever to save his life as well as his wife’s. In short: if he misses a single note, they’re both dead.
Some pretty oddball concepts coming out of Nostromo, no? I like it, and will love it if Cusack, one of my favorites, jumps onboard. Dude’s taking to the dark-side lately, I don’t expect it to end here. How about you?
