Last week, we heard that Jacob Tremblay and Riz Ahmed had been offered roles in CBS All Access's upcoming reboot of the classic The Twilight Zone anthology series. Word going around was that they would be starring in an episode tentatively titled Kid President, in which
Tremblay would play the kid president, while Ahmed would play his campaign manager.
Tremblay's casting has since been officially confirmed, with the episode now going by the title The Wunderkind. There was no mention of Ahmed in the confirmation, but it is known that John Cho and Allison Tolman (pictured above in KRAMPUS), a couple actors I'm always glad to see in anything, are also in The Wunderkind, as is Tremblay's sister Erica.
Hosted and narrated by GET OUT writer/director Jordan Peele, the first season of this new version of The Twilight Zone will consist of ten episodes.
Other cast members include Sanaa Lathan, starring in an episode titled Rewind; Adam Scott, starring in a remake of the classic tale Nightmare at 20,000 Feet, which is now titled Nightmare at 30,000 Feet; and Kumail Nanjiani in an unspecified episode.
The Twilight Zone is being produced by CBS Television Studios, in association with Monkeypaw Productions and Genre Films. Peele, Simon Kinberg, Marco Ramirez, Win Rosenfeld, and Audrey Chon are the executive producers.
