You may not be able to see John Cena, but you know who can? 650 individuals who deserve to. John Cena has been awarded a Guinness World Record for most Make-a-Wish Foundation wishes, with 650 as the officially recognized number.
John Cena set the official record not by topping somebody who had 649 granted wishes but by Guinness officially acknowledging that nobody has even gotten close to half of that number. Not even Doink the Clown!
WWE also honored Cena on their official Twitter:
Expectedly, John Cena was humble about the honor. “I want them to have an experience that will stay with them forever. I don’t ever want the children or their families to be treated in a way where they feel as if they’re up against anything at all.”
John Cena first developed a partnership with the Make-a-Wish Foundation in 2002, back when he was called the Doctor of Thuganomics, which he did not go to school for.
John Cena has certainly been a busy guy since teaming with the organization, with around 20 movies, 16 world title championships (tying the legendary Ric Flair) and a wide collection of some of the greatest matches in 20th century pro wrestling. Still, he is generally considered one of the nicest people in the sports entertainment business and so a cluttered schedule wouldn’t put him down for the three second tan, as proven by the Guinness World Record. “I just drop everything…If I can offer a fantastic experience, I’ll be first in line to do my part.”
John Cena’s upcoming schedule sees him in numerous movies and TV shows, including Kevin Hart’s Die Hart 2, Matthew Vaughn’s Argylle and 2023’s Fast X. He is also in talks to join Peter Farrelly’s next comedy, while HBO’s Peacemaker has been renewed for a second season.
