Since the creative team behind the 2018 HALLOWEEN sequel is reuniting for back-to-back sequels HALLOWEEN KILLS and HALLOWEEN ENDS, I think a lot of fans have been taking it as a given that John Carpenter will be composing the scores for the sequels. The director of the original HALLOWEEN, and also composer of that film's iconic score, Carpenter returned to the franchise to executive produce and, along with Cody Carpenter and Daniel Davies, compose the score for HALLOWEEN '18, and since he was confirmed to be executive producing KILLS and ENDS, why wouldn't he compose the scores as well?
As it turns out, yes, we can take it as a given that Carpenter is going to compose the scores for KILLS and ENDS. He told ComicBook.com that he had "a lot of fun" working on HALLOWEEN '18 and for the next films he is on board to
do the score, do a new score. That's always fun."
So there we go. A couple more awesome HALLOWEEN scores to look forward to.
Jason Blum, Bill Block, and Malek Akkad will be producing HALLOWEEN KILLS and HALLOWEEN ENDS, with Carpenter, David Gordon Green, Danny McBride, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Cooper Samuelson executive producing.
Curtis will be starring in the new films, with HALLOWEEN '18 co-stars Judy Greer and Andi Matichak expected to return. Original Michael Myers performer Nick Castle has confirmed that he's coming back. HALLOWEEN III star Tom Atkins has expressed interest in appearing in the new films, and has said that he believes Charles Cyphers will be reprising the role of Brackett in them. There was a rumor that HALLOWEEN: THE CURSE OF MICHAEL MYERS' Paul Rudd was asked to play Tommy Doyle in the films, but had to turn down the offer due to scheduling conflicts with GHOSTBUSTERS 2020.
David Gordon Green will be directing both of the new sequels.
Written by Green, McBride, and Scott Teems, HALLOWEEN KILLS begins filming next month for an October 16, 2020 release.
Once KILLS wraps, there will be a "short breather" before the filming of HALLOWEEN ENDS begins. Written by Green, McBride, Paul Brad Logan, and Chris Bernier, that one is aiming for an October 15, 2021 release.
