Almost exactly two months from now horror fans everywhere will be lining up to watch Michael Myers’ return in HALLOWEEN from director David Gordon Green. Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) is returning, Green is favoring the suspense-over-gore approach of the original, and none other than John Carpenter is back to compose the movie’s score. It’s a horror movie fan’s dreams come true, and if you can’t wait to spend your money then take a look at this new teaser for the release of the movie’s score on vinyl.

Anyone who wants to pre-order the soundtrack (out on October 19, the same day as the movie) can pick from a variety of looks (via Sacred Bones Records), including a disc that’s either black or a more vibrant orange. You can see a picture below of the orange look, as well as the inside of the cover.
As well, there’s a special white design that is clearly the cream of the crop and is super limited edition at 2,000. In fact, this edition is so limited, it’s already sold out. But, hey, that doesn’t mean you can look at the artwork, right?

The description reads:
“The new soundtrack pays homage to the classic Halloween score that Carpenter composed and recorded in 1978, when he forever changed the course of horror cinema and synthesizer music with his low-budget masterpiece. Several new versions of the iconic main theme serve as the pulse of Green’s film, its familiar 5/4 refrain stabbing through the soundtrack like the Shape’s knife. The rest of the soundtrack is equally enthralling, incorporating everything from atmospheric synth whooshes to eerie piano-driven pieces to skittering electronic percussion. While the new score was made with a few more resources than Carpenter’s famously shoestring original, its musical spirit was preserved.”
HALLOWEEN arrives October 19.
