After going nearly twenty years without a show, legendary movie host Joe Bob Briggs made his triumphant return to the airwaves in 2018, thanks to the Shudder streaming service. In the last three years, Joe Bob has hosted three seasons of the weekly double feature show The Last Drive-In for Shudder, as well as eight specials that have ranged from double features to a 24 hour marathon. Just last week, Shudder announced that another special – Joe Bob’s Halloween Hoedown – will be airing in October… And yesterday, Darcy the Mail Girl took to social media to reveal that the Halloween Hoedown is just one of five Joe Bob Briggs specials we can expect to see before the next season of The Last Drive-In makes its premiere.
Darcy spilled the beans in response to a fan who was already daydreaming of the Last Drive-In season opener:
Previous seasons of The Last Drive-In have started in March and April, so it’s possible that Shudder could be planning to serve us a new Joe Bob special every month until the next season begins. Whatever the schedule turns out to be, it’s just awesome to know we have so much more Joe Bob to look forward to in the immediate future.
We’ll keep you updated on all the Joe Bob special news as information is revealed.
In the meantime, Joe Bob’s Halloween Hoedown will be airing October 8th at 9pm Eastern on Shudder TV!
In what has become an annual tradition, iconic horror host and foremost drive-in movie critic Joe Bob Briggs returns with a special The Last Drive-In double feature just in time for Halloween, premiering live on the Shudder TV feed. You’ll have to tune in to find out what movies Joe Bob has selected, but you can count on something scary and perfect for the season, with special guests to be announced.
The special will also be available on demand beginning October 10th.
