Jodie Comer confirmed to join Joaquin Phoenix in Ridley Scott’s Kitbag

Fresh of her appearance in the box office success Free Guy, Killing Eve’s Jodie Comer is confirming, via “Variety“, that she will be starring alongside Joaquin Phoenix in Ridley Scott’s latest film, Kitbag. The project will begin filming towards the new year.

Comer is set to play Josephine opposite Phoenix’s Napoleon Bonaparte. The film is a historical drama about the military leader and emperor. Comer is gearing up to begin a promotional tour for Scott’s The Last Duel, in which she appears opposite Matt Damon and Adam Driver, and she says she jumped at the chance to work with Scott again:

“I just jumped at the chance to work with Ridley and his team again and the idea of working with Joaquin, who’s someone who I hugely admire, I think for me, what I’m learning is […] you learn and you grow so much by being and working with the people that you’re working alongside and I just think having that opportunity — I’m so excited to delve into that world.”

Comer is currently wrapping up on the fourth and final season of Killing Eve, opposite Sandra Oh. Once the actress concludes her work on the critically acclaimed series, she will then move over to Kitbag closer to the new year. Comer is proving to be one of the most talked-about up-and-coming actresses working in the business right now and her film career is certainly shaping up nicely at this point.
