In THE HITMAN’S BODYGUARD, Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson team up for a ton of action and a few laughs as well. However, they aren’t the only ones prepping for a little excitement. Recently, Lionsgate reached out to a few sites to see if the writers have what it takes to become a hitman themselves. JoBlo was called, and we said hell yes. We jumped at the opportunity to prove our worth… only problem is, it was I who took on the challenge. Well, how did I do? We’ll get to that.
The visit started with a friendly – yet slightly intense – round of training at Lazrfit in Los Angeles. You may think that a few minutes of lazer tag would be really simple, but for this guy with terrible aim, it was not a pretty sight. As hard as I tried, my aim was off and I barely got a solid shot in. Thankfully, I had the chance to prove my worth with the next adventure. We headed over to the K1 SpeedWay for a little vehicular training… and yeah, my speed was pretty terrible. But dammit, I wasn’t last!
The one skill that every hitman should have is a little floral talent. And by that, I’m talking somebody who could put a mean bouquet together. The final stop for the event was at a little place called FlowerDuet where we put our creative skills to work. That one… I guess I did okay. What did I learn from my official hitman training? Well, probably that I’d be a terrible hitman. Thankfully, Mr. Jackson has the honor of playing a hitman with humor and I can just sit back and write about it. Check out THE HITMAN’S BODYGUARD opening this Friday at a theatre near you.
